Reason #18 for Disability Insurance: Trips to the Emergency Room Rise in the Summer
Many people are fully aware that emergency room visits increase in the summertime. Before you go outside to play, make sure your income is properly protected with an individual disability insurance policy! If you already have disability insurance or a group disability insurance policy, make sure you have reviewed your coverage and that you are properly protected.
A quality individual disability insurance with an own occupation definition of disability will pay you benefits if you are too sick or injured to work. That includes many of the accidents that occur during the summer. Last summer, here at Set for Life Insurance, we had several clients file claims related to accidents. We had an anesthesiologist who was in a terrible car accident and broke her neck. She was out of work for a considerable amount of time. Fortunately, she reviewed and adjusted her policy throughout her career and had adequate coverage before her accident.
Here are some interesting statistics about emergency room visits.
