I recently had a physician contact me who was working with a local agent. This agent told her that his plan was significantly better than all of the other plans. Could this be true?

There are subtle differences among plans and companies, but there is nothing significant that puts one policy or company way above the rest.

If someone is pushing you or telling you that one policy is so much better than the rest and it is the only one to consider, chances are that person is employed by that company and has a bias or incentive to only show that product. Some agents work for a company and may not be aware of other products available and therefore assume that their product is the best.

As a consumer, the best thing you can do is to compare policies in an objective way.  Working with a broker who is not employed by any company is the best way to ensure you are receiving the most objective advice.
