If you are a graduating medical resident and wish to take advantage of the special disability insurance discounts through Set for Life, applications must be submitted by June 30, 2014. Underwriting typically takes 3 weeks but the process does not need to be completed by that date.

Here are some of the advantages of purchasing your policy prior to graduation:

1) Discounts. This can save you significantly throughout your career, especially if the discounts are permanent and apply to future increases.

2) No financial underwriting. As a resident or fellow, you do not need to provide income documentation. You automatically qualify for up to $5000/month. Some specialties qualify for up to $7500/month if you are in your last 6 months.
